Honda Civic 'road bully' charged for rash driving

Quek Zhen Hao, the 25-year-old driver branded online as a "road bully" after his aggressive and dangerous driving was exposed in two videos, was charged in court with reckless driving on Wednesday morning.

Quek, who turned up in court with his father, was slapped with two counts of driving in a rash manner and one count of displaying threatening behaviour towards one Goh Stok Ling.

The Media Development Authority (MDA) on Wednesday fined state broadcaster MediaCorp $6,300 after one of its deejays used an offensive word on-air against a visually-impaired woman.

On 20 March this year, Class95FM DJ Joe Augustin of the Morning Express, who was hosting the daily show with colleague Glenn Ong, used the word "a-hole" to describe Cassandra Chiu, a visually-impaired woman best known for owning Esme, the guide dog.

At least 205 people are dead and more than 200 others trapped underground after an explosion and a fire at a coal mine in Turkey on Wednesday.

Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said 787 people were inside the coal mine in Soma, some 250 kilometers (155 miles) south of Istanbul, at the time of the explosion and 363 of them had been rescued so far.

Technical troubles have hindered a resumption of the search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 with a mini-sub lasting only two hours in the water before it had to be raised, officials said Wednesday.

Australian vessel Ocean Shield, carrying the US Navy Bluefin-21 submersible, arrived back in the southern Indian Ocean search zone Tuesday following a port visit to Perth after the air and sea hunt was scaled back.

The plan was for it to resume scouring the seabed where transmissions believed to have come from the plane's black box flight recorders were heard last month.
