Five 17-year-youths are set to be charged for vandalism on Saturday, for their suspected involvement in the rooftop graffiti case in Toa Payoh.
According to the Singapore Police Force Facebook page, police were alerted to a report of graffiti being painted on a wall of the rooftop of Blk 85A Lorong 4 Toa Payoh on Wednesday morning. Profanities against the police and the ruling People's Action Party (PAP) were discovered to have been sprayed-painted in bright red paint on the rooftop.
Following an investigation by the Criminial Investigation Department and Tanglin Police Division, the five youths were arrested on Friday.
If convicted, they may be jailed for up to three years or be fined up to $2,000, and shall also be punished with at least three strokes of the cane.
