A Malaysian rescue team searching for missing British tourist Gareth Huntley found a body on Wednesday near a conservation project where he had served as a volunteer, a fire and rescue official said.

Huntley, 34, went missing on May 27 during a jungle trek on Tioman Island off the eastern coast of Malaysia, sparking a major manhunt and expressions of deep concern in Britain, including from Prime Minister David Cameron.

A British sailor has filed a report with Australian authorities stating she saw a burning Boeing 777 near Thailand on the morning Malaysia Airlines MH370 disappeared.

Katherine Tee, who was sailing across the Indian Ocean from Cochin, India, to Phuket with her husband Marc Horn, said she saw what looked like an aircraft on fire crossing the night sky, with a plume of black smoke trailing behind it.

Taiwanese singer Huan Huan found dead in own home

Taiwanese singer and actress Huan Huan was found dead in her home in Taichung, in Taiwan.

Sina's Daily News reports that police found her lifeless on her bed on 1 June with burnt coals nearby, after family members reported that they were unable to contact her.

A note was also left at the scene, which read, "Someone told me to do this."

Singapore: Blogger Raises Funding to Fight PM Lee Hsien Loong's Lawsuit

For the first time since launching a defamation suit against local blogger Roy Ngerng, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong spoke up on Tuesday about freedom of speech online.

His comments come amid criticism against him for pursuing a defamation case against healthcare worker Ngerng, author of theThe Heart Truths blog, for allegedly accusing the prime minister of "criminal misappropriation" of public funds in a post on May 15.
 
The defamation suit was filed in the High Court, where the typical minimum value of claims for damages is S$250,000.

China deployed its vast security apparatus on Wednesday to snuff out commemoration of the suppression of pro-democracy protests around Tiananmen Square 25 years ago, flooding the streets with police as censors scrubbed the Internet clean of any mention of the crackdown.

Several governments including the United States urged China to account for what happened on June 4, 1989, comments that riled China, which has said the protest movement was "counter-revolutionary". Exiled Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama used the anniversary to call on China to embrace democracy.
