The man behind the defacement of the Istana website at the height of Singapore's "Anonymous" crisis was on Thursday fined S$8,000 for his act.
Businessman Delson Moo, 43, was charged in late November for carrying out a cross-site scripting attack on the Google search function of the website for the Singapore President's office. With the script, he was able to input text and images that would display from a use of the site's search function.

E-commerce giant Alibaba will pay over S$239 million (US$190 million) for a 50 per cent stake in China's top football club, the company said Thursday, in a frenzy of deal-making before it goes public.
Alibaba will pay S$240 million (US$192 million) for the stake in Asian champions Guangzhou Evergrande, according to a statement.

New body found after South Korean ferry disaster

An additional victim from the doomed South Korea ferry was retrieved Thursday from the water, raising the death toll to 289, officials said.
It was the first body recovered since May 21. Heavy objects like desks and cabinets have made it difficult for divers to navigate through unsearched parts of the ferry that sank on April 16.
