New Canberra MRT station to come up between Yishun and Sembawang

Singapore's Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew announced on Friday that the government will be constructing a Canberra MRT station between Yishun and Sembawang stations on the North-South Line.
He said this during his speech at a groundbreaking ceremony for Singapore's sixth MRT line, the Thompson Line (TSL), adding that more details will be made available by the Land Transport Authority when ready.

Six women charged with rioting at Cineleisure Orchard
Six women were charged with rioting at the State Courts on Friday.
Six women aged 18 to 30 were charged in court on Friday with rioting, after the incident took place at K Box Cineleisure Orchard early last month. Two of them each face an additional charge of "voluntarily causing hurt" to another person.
The accused are Wang Xi, 23; Liu Jiabao, 30; Wu Huamin, 18; Wu Huachun, 19; Qiu Zhulin, 28; and Ding Jiao, 28.

The government has approved all the recommended changes to MediShield Life, the Ministry of Health announced on Friday.
In a statement, the MOH declared that the Government will provide close to $4 billion in subsidies and other forms of financial support over the next five years.

The Union of International Association (UIA) recently released its 2013 Global Rankings, where Singapore is named 'Top International Meeting Country' for the 3rd year running, and ''Top International Meeting City' for the 7th consecutive year.
UIA surveyed 174 countries and 1,465 cities, and found out that Singapore formed 9.4% of its database of meetings.
