Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices rose across the board in August's first bidding exercise, with the Open Category registering the biggest rise. A total of 3,484 bids were received for the exercise, while only 1,909 COEs were available.

City Harvest church (CHC) leaders tried to cover up spending nearly S$5 million on Sun Ho's music career, said lead prosecutor Mavis Chionh during the fifth tranche of the mega-church trial on Tuesday.
 
Xtron, the music production firm which was managing Ms Ho's career from 2003 to 2008, had taken $4.79 million from the church intended as advance rental monies for a Singapore Expo hall.

Indonesia's Constitutional Court on Wednesday began hearing a challenge to the result of the country's July 9 presidential election, which ended in victory for Jakarta Gov. Joko Widodo.

Losing candidate Prabowo Subianto filed complaints to the court last month, alleging that "structural, systematic and massive fraud" by the Election Commission had destroyed his chances of leading Southeast Asia's largest economy.
