The New Zealand Minister of Transport today approved the proposed alliance of Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand.
The alliance, which was first revealed on January 16, will lead to increased flight frequency between Singapore and New Zealand and provide other consumer benefits, such as improved connections through reciprocal codeshare ties.

Four Malaysian men arrested in connection with the stabbing deaths of two British medical students have confessed to the killings that occurred after an alcohol-f uelled argument, police said Thursday.
The bodies of the two Newcastle University students were found early Wednesday lying in a road in Kuching, capital of the state of Sarawak on Borneo island.
The victims have been identified as Neil Dalton and Aidan Brunger, both 22.
