Almost 300 people are missing after a ferry sank off South Korea on Wednesday, the coastguard said, in what could be the country's biggest peacetime disaster in 20 years.

164 people were rescued by press time, but two were confirmed to be dead after the ferry capsized in what seemed to be calm conditions off South Korea's southwest coast.

StarHub 4G users to be charged from June as promo ends

StarHub will start charging its 4G and LTE users for staying on its high-speed data network from 1 June onwards, and will impose a monthly charge of $2.14, which it says is discounted from the usual $10.70.

It will allow its users to unsubscribe from the 4G network via SMS, and are informing them that way as well.

Australia's Bluefin 21 submarine resurfaced prematurely for the second time after facing technical difficulties on Wednesday, but was sent back underwater after its data was downloaded.

No signs of the plane or any debris yet, though, said the joint agency coordinating the search.

Meanwhile, angry Chinese relatives of passengers on MH370 stormed out of a teleconference meeting to protest the Malaysian government not meeting them in person.

Marina Bay Sands, Resorts World Sentosa among 20 Singapore hotels set to house 2015 SEA Games athletes

Organisers of next year's SEA Games have announced that 20 local hotels, all rated four stars and up, will accommodate visiting athletes, officials and delegates during the meet from 5 to 16 June 2015.

These 20 were chosen from a list of 45 that bidded for the tender late last year.

China's growth slows to 7.4 per cent in Q1

China's economic growth slowed further in the first quarter of this year, but it appeared strong enough to satisfy Chinese leaders who are making efforts to put the country on a more sustainable path, sans politically dangerous job losses.

It grew 7.4 per cent from last year, down from Q4's 7.7 per cent, a mini-slump that matches the one that occurred in late 2012, which saw the weakest growth since the 2008-9 global crisis.
